COMMUTATOR PLACING UNIT

  MCP-14

STANDARD FEATURES

  • Quick change tooling.

  • All fluidic operation.

  • Adaptable for tooling to accommodate tang or slotted commutators.

  • Easily adjustable for radial and linear position.

DESCRIPTION

The Model MCP-14 is a manual load/unload unit designed to assemble commutators to the armature shaft.  Both tang and slotted commutators can be accommodated on this versatile unit utilizing quick change tooling fixtures.  The unit is offered as a bench mounted unit or optionally on a fabricated stand.

OPERATION

Armature cores are loaded into a keyed nest for positive radial alignment and commutators are loaded into an adjustable nosepiece where they are located radially either by tangs, or in the case of non-tang commutators, by the commutators’ slots.  The commutators are pressed into position by a pneumatic cylinder or optional hydraulic powered cylinder.
