DESCRIPTION
The Model ELP/XL-90A is a
fully automatic machine designed to place the end insulator onto
armature shaft end lamination core assemblies. This machine is
designed to accommodate either single piece, end insulator and shaft
collar moldings or separate fiber end insulators and shaft collars.
Single piece end
insulator/shaft collar moldings are fed via two (2) separate
vibrator bowls onto belt conveyors which transports them to the
orientation and placement pickup station. Escapements on the belt
conveyors allow a single part to reach the orientation/placer pickup
position.
Flat fiber type end
insulators can be handled in the same vibratory feed/belt conveyor
manner or can be selected and placed from pre-oriented supply
chutes.
Shaft collars are fed, using
vibratory bowls, to the placer station where they are picked up by
the placer rams and pushed onto the correct position on each end of
the armature shaft.
The Model ELP/XL-90A
machines are arranged as modular units so that they can adapt to
various types of transport systems, i.e., gravity feed, positive
chain transport or palletized conveyor systems. In all cases,
armature cores are positioned by a loading chuck into a next and
indexed (if necessary to the proper radial position for insulator
placing.
In all cases, the placing
stations are all arranged on the side of the machine opposite the
transfer system for ease of material loading and machine
maintenance.
